David Nance started as Woodlawn's Pastor on March 25, 2001. David started as a bi-vocational Pastor while teaching high school. Woodlawn experienced sufficient growth that on June 1, 2005, David ended his high school teaching career and became Woodlawn's full-time Pastor. David is a native of Leesburg, Georgia where he graduated from Lee County High School in 1989. David earned an Associate's Degree in Liberal Arts from Darton College in Albany, GA ('91), a Bachelor's Degree in Agricultural Engineering from the University of Georgia ('94), a Master's Degree in Education from Berry College in Rome, GA ('99), and has completed additional graduate work at Luther Rice University in Lithonia, GA. He is married to Rebecca and they have four children: Hannah, Noah, Mary, and John. David lives with his family in the Wax community in Floyd County Georgia.
 
David was called by God into the ministry in 1993 while attending Prince Avenue Baptist Church in Athens, GA.
He subsequently served in various volunteer capacities in churches in both NE and NW Georgia.
He was ordained to the ministry in 1998.
